I've started reading Margaret Livingstone's book, "Vision and Art: the biology of seeing". (2000) The 22 immutable laws of branding. The authors start with optical theory, then into the biological basis for human vision. All facts are extracted from her book: Vision And Art: The Biology Of Seeing, from her publications and most importantly from several conferences that she did.
